Highlight of the month

Visit the Southern Arizona Wineries, B&B Inns, Hotels & Resorts

Plan your trip to tour Southern Arizona Wineries and stay at one of the bed and breakfast inns, resorts or hotels in the area. Southern Arizona offers many activities as well as the historic celebrations that occur during the month of October. Visit the wineries in Wilcox and Elgin, and tour the vast landscape around Sonoita. Plan now and make your reservations to be sure of the best possible accommodations. Take a ride on the San Pedro & Southwestern Railroad Excursion Train. This historic train thunders through the area from Benson, south to the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, through the ruins of the historic ghost towns of Contention and Fairbanks, to end up in Charleston - near by to Tombstone. The narration and folklore will keep you spellbound.

For hikers and birders this is paradise! - Home to Ramsey Canyon, Madera Canyon, Patagonia, and many other easy day trips to attractions like Bisbee and the historic copper mines, Tombstone - "the town too tough to die", Coronado National Memorial, and Chiricahua National Monument.

In October many historic celebrations take place including Butterfield Days in Benson - October 10, 11 & 12. Celebrate the days gone by when the Butterfield stage ran across the territory. There will be a chili cook-off, dancing, entertainment, car shows, a 10-K race, arts & crafts and much more. Additional celebrations also occur in Tombstone and Wilcox (check the calendar of events for details).
